We are committed to conducting our business in an honest and ethical manner, and protect our human, financial, physical, informational, social, environmental and reputational assets. Our Board of Directors, comprised of both executive and independent members, is committed to complying with all applicable rules and regulations to help ensure transparency and proper information disclosure to the public and investors. At Plains, we believe sound governance policies and practices provide an essential foundation to assist the Directors in fulfilling their responsibilities.
Our Code of Business Conduct (Code) outlines values that govern how Plains conducts business. It provides specific direction for corporate governance and gives options for reporting concerns or suspected Code violations. The Code helps guide us to maintain and nurture a culture that is consistent with these values, which is crucial to our long-term success and sustainability as a company. Our Values serve as the foundation of our culture, a compass for addressing any situation or concern and a mechanism that empowers us to do the right thing.
Since 2018, executive direction for Sustainability at Plains has been set by a four-member committee comprised of executive management team members. A working group of primarily VP-level leaders was established to oversee implementation of Sustainability efforts. Members of the working group represent business areas including Operations; Environmental & Regulatory Compliance; Safety, Security, Emergency Preparedness & Training; Human Resources; Investor Relations; Communications & Government Relations; and Treasury.
